Generally a good starting point for novices, although it's a bit too much opinionated. And even though much of what you state is true, you failed to provide statistical proof of your claims. Most web-related articles are written in the same fashion - the author writes about what he believes to be right, verbally rebuking everyone who might dare to differ. The best thing about the internet is the opportunity to be creative, and the prerogative to be an individual amongst the masses. Organizations such as W3C and the like have given guidelines in an attempt to create a standard they hope the majority will conform to. These guidelines are not, in fact, compulsory, and do not have to be adhered to as no singular person or organization may claim authority on this matter.

Instead of demanding what you claim to be right (even though it might be the case), state why something like frames should best be ignored. The fact remains that even the most experienced designers - and the most beautifully designed web sites - still use frames. Rather give informative links to a site that explains how to correctly use frames, and with the help of JavaScript correctly display frames across a magnitude of browsers and screen resolutions - should the reader decide to still make use of frames.

Other examples include color palettes and introduction screens. Web sites created with Macromedia Flash are (in my opinion) required to let the visitor know that they are about to enter a web site which requires the Flash plug-in, and that they may be in for a long wait (if they are using a slower internet connection).

I've tried to refrain from deliberately insulting you, please excuse me if I had. You have created an article that can be of so much importance and potential inspiration - just work on staying neutral ind informative ...

thank you very much for your long and detailed comment

I know that such tutorials always tend to be very subjective, but I have added this point under the title already. It is clear that everybody needs creativity and if their was none, everything would look the same. However, I think that most of the points mentionned are important to respect.

About the frames, I still can't agree with you, because even if you teach people to use the right, there are still some browsers, mostly mobile phones who can't display them at all. Javascript is not another good idea eather, because it is disabled by some users and it isn't applicable to all browsers, eather.

Intro pages are good with Flash, but I also consider that you shouln't use Flash for a whole site design, because it's very slow to load normally. Better have an alternative version. I don't think you insultated me. I have already heard a lot more sharp critique than this one.

Thanks again!
